Synopsis of Paulina
This film, which won the International Film Critics Award at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, was directed by Argentinian director Santiago Mitri and explores the issue of sexual assault from an unusual angle. In order to practice her political ideals, Paulina gave up her promising career as a lawyer and came to teach in a poor border town near her hometown. Difficulties at work did not dampen her ideals, but Paulina was raped when she returned home late at night, including by the students she taught. Accusation or forgiveness, who is responsible for the violence? With social reform as her mission, she faces a battle between heaven and man.
