Synopsis of Kisna: The Warrior Poet

The story of the film takes place in India in the turbulent 1930s. Nationalists fought for the country's independence, and the revolted people strongly demanded the departure of the British invaders. At this time, an Indian young man, Kisna, befriended a British girl, Katherine, and tried to protect her from the angry mob of nationalists, including Kisna's uncle and brother. Kisna takes it upon herself to escort Katherine, the young daughter of a ruthless British collector, to the safety of the British High Commission in New Delhi, where they will arrange for her to be sailed back home. The subtle love between Kisna and Katherine gradually develops during the journey, and this love story is tortured by "fate" and the "rules" of Hinduism. Laxmi, an Indian girl who is engaged to Kisna, becomes the third point in the relationship between the Indian-British romantic couple. She witnesses their cross-border love, which becomes a love triangle.
