Synopsis of The Claim

The story takes place in 1849, when the "Gold Rush" struck and the world changed dramatically. Speculator Dylan (Peter Mullan) relies on his skill and wisdom to become a wealthy man in a small California town that can dominate the sky. Even the usually aloof brothel owner Lucia (Milla Jovovich) Milla Jovovich) could not resist the temptation of gold and took the initiative to throw herself into Dylan's arms. Just when Dylan was at his most triumphant, the arrival of three guests completely changed his life. Elena (played by Nastassja Kinski) and Hope (played by Sarah Polley), one is a frail middle-aged woman and the other is a thin, pale and immature girl. Their true identities are , turned out to be the wife and daughter Dylan abandoned in his early years. The other is a man named Dagliese (Wes Bentley). His existence is crucial to the survival of the town.
