Synopsis of The Night Listener

Gabri (Robin Williams), as a radio DJ on a late-night chat show, has many fans in the city, and the little boy Peter is one of them. In fact, Gabri's first contact with Peter was through a book manuscript sent by a friend. The author of this book is Peter, and it describes his various misfortunes: he was abused by his parents since he was a child, and he provided dirty sexual services to adults. Gabri and Peter communicated and talked over the radio waves, and gradually built a close friendship. But then came doubt. Behind Peter's story there is a woman named Donna (Toni Collette), who is Peter's current adoptive mother. At Donna, Gabri guessed that there was more to Peter's story than it seemed. He rushed to the town where Peter lived to find out. Gabri met the blind Donna in the town. This woman plunged Gabri into a bigger mystery. Whether or not the boy Peter existed has become an unknowable mystery.
