On May 14, 2011, the New York City Police Department confirmed that Kahn was currently being detained at the New York City Police Department and was being questioned by the police on suspicion of sexually assaulting a hotel attendant. On May 19, 2012 local time, Strauss-Kahn, President of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), announced his resignation and regretfully missed out on the position of French President.
