Synopsis of The Lingering

On the night of Lunar New Year's Eve, Tsing Yi and her son Da Wa waited for her husband Shi Zi to come back from thousands of miles away for a reunion. Unfortunately, after waiting all night, there was no news, and her son kept seeing an uncle whom Tsing Yi couldn't see. The second aunt next door came to visit. Tsing Yi asked her second aunt to take care of her eldest son temporarily, while she ran to the village committee and called the factory to learn about her husband's whereabouts. Unexpectedly, she learned that there had been an accident at the factory and her husband's life or death was uncertain. Over there, the second aunt encountered something strange at Qing Yi's house. She rushed to the village committee to find Qing Yi for help, but left the eldest child alone at home. Qing Yi immediately went home and saw that her eldest baby was safe and sound. She felt relieved for a while, but she found a strange man hiding in a dark corner of her home! Qing Yi had no way to escape, so she could only take refuge at home with her eldest child. Is this man a human or a ghost? What is the purpose of coming to Qing Yi's house?
