This play is adapted from "Lark Rise To Candleford" by British female writer Flora Thompson. [ Flora Thompson has lived in the countryside since she was a child, and is very attached to the life there. This "Lark Rise To Candleford" is actually a semi-autobiographical work written by the author based on his memories of his life in Oxfordshire as a boy from 1880 to 1890. The original work was three independent works: Lark Rise (1939), Over to Candleford (1941), and Candleford Green (1943). It was not until 1945 that it was merged into a trilogy and published. If Cranford tells the story of a group of nagging old ladies with childish innocence, then Lark Rise To Candleford is a story about the adult world through the eyes of children.
