Synopsis of The Door Into Summer
It is adapted from a short work by Takemiya Keiko published in Hakusensha's girls' manga magazine "Flowers and Dreams" in 1975. The story revolves around Marion (voiced by Yu Mizushima), the leader of a group called the "Reasonable Party" in a boys' boarding school in France in the late nineteenth century. In order to prevent the two seniors from competing for the beautiful mayor's daughter Ledania (voiced by Pan Kezi), Marion proposed a dare duel of "standing on the railway with his back to the oncoming train". The beautiful Sarah (voiced by Reiko Muto) invited him and left the train that was forced to stop. Marion, who had suppressed her inner passion due to her mother's remarriage and a sense of uncleanness about sex, received Ledania's love letter and walked to the agreed coffee shop in the rain...
