Synopsis of Housebound

Drug addict Kelly Bucknell (Morgana O'Reilly) and her companions robbed an ATM, but were caught by the police. After this, she was sentenced to eight months of home confinement by the judge. Kelly's hometown is located in a remote town, and her mother Miliya (Rima Te Wiata) now lives with another man. After being installed with a monitoring device, Kelly lost her freedom and could only huddle in this old and dilapidated house every day. One day, while listening to the radio, she accidentally discovered that her mother had called the hotline to the radio station. Milia claimed that she had seen a ghost in the basement of her home, which made her panic. Kelly has always been disgusted with her mother's nagging words and deeds, but within a few days, she really encountered a series of strange events. When the law prohibits escape, Kelly can only turn to security guard Amos (Glen-Paul Waru) who is interested in supernatural events. The test of life and death is imminent...
