Synopsis of An Andalusian Dog

This film is a cross-border collaboration between Luis Buñuel, the father of surrealist cinema, and Salvador Dalí, the surrealist painter. It expresses people's dreams and subconscious. The story is divided into two parts. At the beginning of the first part, a melancholy young man (played by Luis Bunuel) is sitting in the moonlight, sharpening his razor, smoking a cigarette, and waiting for a young girl to appear. The young man caressed the young girl's face with a razor and cut her eyeballs with the razor, while dark clouds moved across the moon. The second part is set 8 years later. A young man riding a bicycle and wearing a cloak similar to a woman's clothing appears on the road. He faints and falls downstairs of a woman. The woman comes downstairs and takes away the box in his hand. The man never woke up. After returning to the house, the woman sat meditating. Another man knocked on the door. His palms were covered with ants. While the man and the woman were studying the ants, a woman in men's clothing downstairs was playing with a severed hand, which attracted the attention of passers-by. Watch. Later, women's breasts, pumpkins, monks, pianos, and men and women in ragged clothes appeared in the picture one after another, and dreams with rich symbolic meaning were displayed one by one.
