Synopsis of 47 Ronin

Ancient Japan entered the Edo period, and the Tokugawa shogunate closed itself off to the outside world, maintaining an isolated peace and the absolute rule of the shogun family. The Fifth General Tsunayoshi (played by Hiroyuki Tagawa), accompanied by Kira Uenosuke (played by Tadanobu Asano), visited the Banshu Ako Domain led by Asano Uchi Takutou (played by Tanaka Min). Kira is insidious, narrow-minded and ambitious. He uses the enchantress Mitsuki (played by Rinko Kikuchi) to confuse Lord Asano and make him wield a sword against Kira. The angry general ordered Asano to commit seppuku, and strictly prohibited the Ako clan's boss Ishiuchi Zangsuke (played by Hiroyuki Sanada) from taking revenge for personal gain. The proud warriors became rogues in an instant, and the mixed-race Kui (Keanu Reeves) freely adopted by the lord was even more unfairly treated. After a period of enduring the humiliation, Oishi gathered forty-six loyal and brave warriors of the Ako Domain under his command, and secretly launched revenge against Kira. After many twists and turns, he found Kui. Kui, who had loved the feudal lord's daughter Mika (played by Yuki Shibasaki) since childhood, chose to join the revenge group in order to prevent his sweetheart from being tainted by Kira. The classic story of the Forty-Seven Ronin is presented in a different form...
