Synopsis of Tabu

This film is divided into two chapters, "Paradise Lost" and "Paradise", telling the magnificent love epic in the life of the heroine Aurora (played by Laura Soveral). The moody Aurora is old and lives with her black housekeeper. Their neighbor is a warm-hearted old woman named Pila (Teresa Madruga). Pyrrha often expresses her kindness to Aurora, but Aurora does not appreciate it. After Aurora's death, Pyrrha and the housekeeper discovered one of her secrets - a letter she wrote to her old lover during her lifetime. Pila decides to send this letter to Aurora's lover, which leads to a long-lost past of Aurora - an unforgettable love and adventure story that took place in the African colonies. The film won the Alfred Award at the 62nd Berlin Film Festival in 2012. German silent film pioneer Murnau made the film of the same name in 1931. This time director Miguel Gomez pays tribute to the master Murnau.
