Synopsis of District 9

In 1990, a huge spacecraft appeared in the sky above the earth. People were terrified, but also extremely curious. After a period of nervous waiting, there was still no movement from the alien spacecraft. Humans finally approached it cautiously and forced their way into the cabin, only to find countless aliens. They described him as ugly, like a shrimp, in extremely poor health, and weak. It turned out that this was a group of refugees from extraterrestrials. They were finally accepted by the people on Earth and lived in isolation in an area of Johannesburg, South Africa, called "Area 9". After 20 years of reproduction, the number of alien refugees has expanded to 1.8 million, and conflicts with surrounding humans continue. More and more humans are calling for the "prawns" to be driven away from the earth. After consultation, the MNU (Union of Nations) decided to relocate the alien refugees to more remote areas. Agent Wikus (played by Sharlto Copley) of the MNU Extraterrestrial Affairs Department is responsible for relocation work. Wikus was arrogant and haphazard during the mobilization process, and frequently clashed with local residents. In the end, he paid the price for his actions.
