Synopsis of Fire, Next Time

A group of unpaid construction workers went to sea to find a better life in a foreign country, but disappeared at sea overnight. The women they left behind in Dakar suffered from inexplicable high fever. Seventeen-year-old Ada privately mourns her lover Suleiman, one of the workers who died, but she has been promised to another man. After a fire breaks out on her wedding night, a young police officer is sent to investigate. But what he doesn't know is that these aggrieved workers are back and have become haunting, possessive ghosts. Many of them were seeking revenge for their unfair treatment, but Suleiman had a different purpose. He wanted to see Ada one last time.
