Synopsis of Trekkies

In 1997, it was the hottest time for startrek. TOS has just celebrated its 30th birthday, TNG has only ended a few years ago, DS9 is entering its last and most exciting seasons, and VOY has just started its first few seasons. This is also the first time in the history of ST that two dramas are premiering at the same time. Trekkies1 is the first film shot in 1997. It tells the story of ST fans themselves and analyzes the ST phenomenon. The word trekkie was invented in 1967 and is the only fan group name included in the Oxford Dictionary, which shows its far-reaching influence. Klingon has become the second largest virtual language (the first is "Esperanto"), and even Google provides a Klingon version.
