Synopsis of Dragonwyck

In 1844, Miranda Wells (Gene Tierney), a farm girl living near Greenwich, Connecticut, USA, received a letter from upper-class cousin Nicholas Van Ryn (Vincent Price). Nicholas hoped that Miranda could come to his mansion Dragonwyck to be his daughter's nanny. Miranda, a tutor who longed for a high-society life, happily went there, but unexpectedly heard supernatural rumors circulating in Dragonwyck on her first night, but Miranda did not take it seriously. Some time later, Nicholas's wife suddenly died mysteriously.
