Synopsis of gambling apocalypse
The story begins on a gambling boat in the dark... The male protagonist, Kaiji Ito, is confused and has accomplished nothing. He was burdened with millions of debts because he kindly provided guarantees for others. In order to repay the debt, Kaisi was encouraged to board a ferry called the "Ship of Hope" in order to participate in a mysterious gambling game. Once he won, the debt could be written off. After boarding the pirate ship, Kaisi discovered that most of the participants were failed young men like himself. Then the organizer laid out the rules of the gambling game: Participants must use playing cards marked "rock, scissors, paper" as props to seize the star symbol from the opponent. At the end of the gambling game, the playing cards have not been used up or there are less than three stars. Participants will be disqualified, and the huge amount of money they can borrow from the organizers at the beginning of the competition has also become an important factor for them to make a profit or escape...
