Synopsis of Red Tails

The film tells the story of the first black pilots in the United States during World War II, who overcame the institutional and racial restrictions of the time to form a special experimental bomber escort - the Tuskegee Airmen. Their planes had "red tails" painted on them, which became their nickname. The "Red Tails", the first formation of African-American pilots in U.S. military history, were sent to Alabama to prepare for war as part of war training. There, they experienced rampant racism and harassment, and their flying and combat capabilities were questioned, but the Red Tails' superior performance in the air prompted the Air Force to abolish segregation. They also played an indispensable role in the conflicts with Italy and Germany.
