Synopsis of The Basketball Diaries

Jim (Leonardo DiCaprio Leonardo DiCaprio) is a high school student in a Catholic school, and he is also a member of the best high school team in New York. He hangs out with three other players on the team all day long, skipping classes, taking drugs, stealing, fighting, and squandering their youth on the streets of New York. Jim recorded his life in "Basketball Diary". Later, Jim's best friend Bobby died of leukemia, which dealt a huge blow to Jim. Because of a "surprise" from Niuqiong, Jim came into contact with psychedelic drugs, and soon he was addicted to drugs. The lack of communication with his mother, the simple and crude education from the school godfather, and the sexual harassment from the team coach all made Jim sink deeper and deeper into self-abasement. Every time drug addiction breaks out, they will try their best to get money to buy drugs, and Jim falls into the abyss of depravity... The film is adapted from the autobiographical novel by writer and musician Jim Carroll.
