Synopsis of The Widower

The film begins with the wedding of British man Malcolm (played by Reece Shearsmith) and his wife Claire (played by Sheridan Smith). The happy life of the newlyweds soon broke down due to Malcolm's financial problems. Malcolm begins poisoning Claire's food and drinking water, and he orchestrates his wife's murder to defraud her of a large insurance payment. A few years later, Malcolm married his second wife Felicity (Kate Fleetwood). Due to property issues, Malcolm repeated his old tricks and poisoned his wife in an attempt to kill her. Receive the insurance money and the wife's original property. However, his murder plan was stopped in time. His vicious hand continued to reach out to the third woman... This film is adapted from a true case, which is the longest legal case in Scottish history. Malcolm was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his first wife Claire and the attempted murder of his second wife Felicity.
