Synopsis of American Psycho

The film is adapted from the controversial novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis. It is a black social satire that describes urban life in the United States in the late 1980s. Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) is the pride of Wall Street and a popular stockbroker. He is handsome and charming, and he talks humorously. He is young and promising and earns countless dollars from his clients every day. But when night falls, the boundless terror of darkness awakens the other side of Bateman's dual personality. He kidnapped each of his prey to his luxurious apartment and tortured them bit by bit. Watching the blood slowly gush out and the prey die in pain, an inexplicable pleasure hit him. His identity means that the police officers investigating this series of crimes have never named him as a suspect, but another equally bloodthirsty murderer wants to commit the next more bloody case and become the real king of killers. Bateman's dual personality keeps him busy all day long. However, the crime cannot be concealed. What will be the outcome of a cold-blooded serial murderer? Will Bateman be caught?
