Synopsis of Happy Old Year

After returning from Sweden, Jane, who loves "minimalism", plans to transform her home into a studio. The old things from many years ago have been cleared out one after another, including the things of her ex-boyfriend Em. Although these objects are no longer useful, they still carry memories and affection from the past. Jane cannot just throw them away as she expected. In order to find the return of these objects, she made a lot of efforts: returning the objects belonging to her friends one by one, personally returning the things belonging to Em and apologizing for her departure, and finally selling her late father's piano. Along with the disposal of old things, she also said goodbye to her past, faced the rearranged new environment, and was ready for a new beginning. The film won the Best Film Award at the 15th Osaka Asian Film Festival in 2020.
