Synopsis of Something Ventured

"Business Week" selected it as one of the 30 must-see movies for MBA students. Famous names such as Apple, Intel, Genentech, Atari, Google and Cisco all stand out amid the many risks. And behind some of the world's most innovative companies are people who see opportunities that others don't see (through timing, foresight, the ability to evaluate others, and a lot of luck). Venture capital was the precursor to all the companies associated with supporting and building companies before the term was coined: the companies that enabled the extraordinary growth of microprocessors, personal computers, and the Internet. This film reveals the ups and downs of building some of the greatest companies of the 20th century, as well as the dramatic stories behind the biggest names in business.
