Synopsis of The Lodger

A prostitute was murdered in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. Senior detective Chandler Manning (Alfred Molina) and rookie partner Slater Wilkinson (Shane West) went to investigate the matter. Manning also had to deal with troubled family problems. His wife suffered from severe mental illness and was incarcerated, and his daughter kept complaining and blaming Manning for ignoring her mother's affairs. At the same time, a restless housewife Ellen Bunting (Hope Davis) and her husband who often disappears are facing financial problems and are in urgent need of money.
