Synopsis of L.A.'s Finest Season 1

NBC previously acquired the pilot series "L.A.'s Finest" for Sydney "Syd" Burnett's personal spin-off from the movie "Bad Boys II", but the project was ultimately not booked. However, after being sold by the television department of the production company Sony Pictures, "L.A." was acquired by the cable station Spectrum with a 13-episode first season, and is scheduled to premiere on May 13, US time. The actor who played the role of Syd in "Bad Boys 2" is Gabrielle Union, and she will continue to perform in the drama version. She is the sister of Marcus Burnett (played by Martin Lawrence) and an undercover agent of the US Drug Enforcement Administration. In addition, in the film, Sydney and Mike Lowrey (played by Will Smith) are lovers. In "L.A.", Syd becomes a detective of the Los Angeles Police Department.
