Synopsis of Adam's Apples

Neo-Nazi skinhead Adam (Ulrich Thomsen) is sent to a remote church to perform social services, where he meets all kinds of strange people. But for him, the most difficult person to deal with is the devout and rigid priest Ivan (Mads Mikkelsen). The unruly Adam was completely helpless in front of Ivan. As part of his service, Adam chose to water the apple tree and made an agreement with the priest to use the fruits harvested in the autumn to make apple pie. However, various natural and man-made disasters continue to threaten the growth of apples. Ivan believes that this is the work of the devil, while Adam believes that this is purely a prank by God... The film was nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2005 European Film Awards; nominated for Best Film and Best Supporting Actor at the 2006 Danish Film Critics Awards. Mads Mikkelsen won the Zulu Award for Best Actor for his role as a priest.
