Synopsis of Alaska: Earth's Frozen Kingdom
The name "Alaska" (Аляска) was introduced during the Russian North America and was used to refer to the Alaska Peninsula. The word Alaska comes from an Aleut idiom, which symbolically refers to the entire Alaska. Literally understood, it means "object to which the action of the sea is directed" or derived from the Aleut word "Alyeska", which means "very large land". This series will observe a year in Alaska, revealing the stories of the exploratory people and animals living in Alaska, tracking their struggle with nature and capturing the wealth that nature bestows in each season.
