The Demons of St. Petersburg

Synopsis of The Demons of St. Petersburg

The film chronicles the major activities of the Russian literary master Dostoevsky in his later years, and uses flashbacks to recall the famous incident in which he was sentenced to death in 1848 and was pardoned by the Tsar just before his execution. The symbol of the "mental asylum" also appears in the film, which we already know from Chekhov's "Ward Six" and Solzhenitsyn's "The Gulag Archipelago". In addition, Anna, the second wife of Toon, is played by the Italian beauty Carolina Crescentini ("Talk to Me About Love") with super beautiful eyes. The love scene between the two that was synchronized with the creation of the novel is really touching.
