Synopsis of A Twelve-Year Night

The film was shortlisted for the Horizon Award at the 75th Venice Film Festival (2018). Uruguay’s “Olympiad” this year. Adapted from a true story during the military dictatorship in Uruguay. 1973. Uruguay is ruled by a military dictatorship. One autumn night, three Tupamaro prisoners were taken from their cells in a covert military operation. The order was precise: "Because we can't kill them, let's go crazy." The three men were to be held in solitary confinement for twelve years. Among them was José Mujica - who later became President of Uruguay.
