Synopsis of Looking for Richard

Al. Pacino's acting and directing debut challenged a high level of difficulty. He used a complex method of filming this film that is half documentary, half drama, both interpretation and discussion. His creative sincerity and directorial skills are both surprising. This film is basically a documentary of Al. Pacino and American actors rehearsed the entire process of Shakespeare's unpopular play "Richard III." Through a large number of street interviews, one can understand how unfamiliar the young generation in America is to Shakespeare's plays, which also explains Pacino's motivation for making this film. The series of discussions on casting and script reading were like interpreting the play "Li" to the audience, and gaining an in-depth understanding of its historical background and the psychological motivations of the characters, allowing everyone to quickly get into the mood while enjoying the official performance of the play-within-a-play. Therefore, the narrative technique used in this film may seem messy, but it actually plays an auxiliary role for the audience, because the use of lenses in the film is more free and unrestrained, the echoes inside and outside the film are closer, the level of concern is broader, and it successfully provides Shakespearean films have infused new blood.
