Synopsis of Black Robe

The film is adapted from Brian Moore's best-selling novel. Brian wrote the legendary story of Father La Forgue based on the Jesuit records about the early activities of the missionaries in the French Quarter, and carefully dramatized a famous period of history, from which he can A glimpse into early North American history. The story takes place in 1634. A young priest traveled through the wilderness of North America and came to Canada to preach to the local Indians. During this time his attendant fell in love with the Indian chief's daughter. The harsh natural environment and the ancient Indian way of life made him begin to doubt whether his mission was correct. The fear of death also threatens them.
