Synopsis of The Crimes That Bind

A highly decomposed body was discovered in an apartment in Katsushika Ward, Tokyo. After preliminary investigation by the police, the deceased was Michiko Oshitani from Shiga Prefecture, and her death was indeed a homicide. Detective Matsunomiya (Junpei Mizohata) of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Investigation Section 1 discovered that Oshitani was here to visit and watch the stage play of Hiromi Asai (Nanako Matsushima), a friend from his student days. Although Asai has a sufficient alibi, her photo with Kaga Kyouichiro (played by Hiroshi Abe) still attracted Matsugiya's attention. At the same time, a burned body was discovered near the apartment where Daozi was killed. A relic at the scene made Jiahe extremely excited, because it was inextricably related to his mother, whom he had not seen for many years. The two cases and the missing people connected Qianju and Kaga again... The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by the famous Japanese mystery writer Keigo Higashino.
