Synopsis of Last Chance Harvey

After reaching middle age, the life of composer Harvey Shann (Dustin Hoffman) living in New York has gradually gone downhill. He divorced his wife (Kathy Baker) in his early years, and his wife took her daughter (Liane Balaban) to London to start a new life; she worked hard all her life, but ended up being fired by her boss at any time. One weekend, Harvey flew to London to attend his daughter's wedding, only to find that his daughter's stepfather (played by James Brolin) had taken his place. Worse things happened one after another. Harvey missed the return flight and therefore lost his already precarious job. While wandering around the British airport, Harvey accidentally meets middle-aged woman Kate Walker (Emma Thompson). Kate is dedicated to her work, but her emotional road is quite bumpy. Two people who have fallen from the world meet unexpectedly, and it seems that a new story is slowly unfolding...
