Synopsis of Harmonium

Toshio (played by Kanji Furudate) and Akae (played by Tsutsui Mariko) have been married for many years and have raised their daughter Hotaru (played by Momon Shinokawa) together. Although their life is calm and uneventful, the couple has long lost their feelings. Communication only maintains the empty shell of marriage. After being released from prison, Toshio's friend Sotaro (played by Tadanobu Asano) came to work in Toshio's studio and stayed at Toshio's home. With a cold husband on one side and a kind and gentle cohabitant on the other, Zhangjiang, who was empty and lonely inside, soon fell under Sotaro's offensive. However, when Akira rejected Sotaro's advances, Sotaro disappeared, and Hotaru also suffered an accident. He had to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Toshio and Akira didn't know where Sotaro had gone. I know that Hotaru's accident is inextricably linked to Sotaro.
