Synopsis of The Mafia Only Kills In Summer

Adapted from real events, the film tells the history of the development of gangs in Sicily in the 20 years from the 1970s to the 1990s. The film mocks the gang bosses in a black comedy tone and highlights the glorious deeds of anti-gangster heroes. The main plot of the film begins with Arturo, a boy growing up in Palermo, trying to win the heart of his beloved girl Flora. Looking at the poster, you can tell that although the film is about the mafia, its style is extremely fresh and cute. The growth of a boy coincides with the evolution of the gang. Arturo's life is deeply affected by the mafia and changes in the current situation, but through the eyes of a child, everything becomes interesting and thoughtful. The film won the David Award for Best New Director and was nominated for the European Film Award for Best Comedy.
