Synopsis of The Aristocrats

Director Paul Provenza and producer Penn Gillette have made one of the funniest films out there, because no movie has assembled as many funny masters as The Aristocrats. It took three years of filming, interviewed more than 100 famous talk show hosts and comedy stars, and carefully extracted a one-and-a-half-hour film from more than 100 hours of film. Paul Provenza and Pan Gillette I personally carried a DV camera around to film and completed the editing on my Mac at home. In these interviews with the stars, they filmed areas that had not been touched by any filmmaker before, allowing us to see the real side of those professional actors and hosts behind the scenes. ​ The film is sincere, private, and shows another side of the star from a unique perspective. It includes Paul Provenza capturing superstar comedians demonstrating their hilarious skills on fellow comedians - some of which aren't actually funny, as well as everyone's improvisational performances. We've seen artists paint the same nudes, musicians play the same numbers, performers act out the same Shakespeare plays, but we've never seen comedians tell the same jokes.
