Synopsis of A Place in the Sun

George (Montgomery Clift) is a child from a poor family. Full of ambition, he travels all the way to a big city to join his uncle, hoping to achieve a great career there. In the factory, George met a female worker named Alice (Shelley Winters), and it didn't take long for the two to come together. The appearance of Angela (Elizabeth Taylor), the daughter of a wealthy family, disturbed George's peaceful life. Caught between two beautiful women, George did not know how to choose when faced with morality and interests. The news that Alice was pregnant made George murderous. He asked Alice to meet on a boat in an attempt to fake a shipwreck. But when he was about to do it, the only conscience left in his heart made it difficult for George to continue. Just then, the boat does capsize, Alice dies of drowning, and George is embroiled in scandal.
