Bikram: Yoga, Guru, Sexual Assault examines the tumultuous life of Bikram Chaudhry, the controversial founder of hot yoga. Arriving in Beverly Hills from Calcutta, India in the early 1970s, Choudhury quickly cultivated a celebrity following and built a global fitness empire that made him extremely wealthy. But it wasn’t until the 2010s, as numerous sexual abuse allegations emerged and stories about his aggressive, cult-like training environment surfaced that lawsuits began to mount and Choudhury’s unorthodox teaching style made headlines. The Netflix original documentary "Bikram: Yoga, Gurus, Sexual Assault" is directed by Academy Award winner Eva Olner ("Taxi to Darkness," "Asylum") and stars Sarah Anthony ( "The Mountain," "Rebel") serves as a producer, telling the stories of the women who brought down Choudhury, and exploring how this healing discipline can help many people while causing harm to many. the contradictions therein.
