Synopsis of The Gilded Cage

The story takes place in an apartment in a gathering place for the wealthy in France. Maria (Rita Blanco) is the concierge of the apartment. In a blink of an eye, she and her husband Joseph (Jean- Jean-Pierre Martins (played by Jean-Pierre Martins) has lived in this community that is incompatible with their social status for thirty years. Everyone in the apartment likes this kind and enthusiastic couple. Despite their huge differences in status, they get along very happily and harmoniously with each other. One day, Joseph received an unexpected letter. In the letter, Joseph became the heir to a rich inheritance in his hometown in Portugal, and returning to his hometown to live was what Joseph dreamed of. Good things happened to Mary and Joseph, but the residents in the apartment were worried because they couldn't let go of the couple. Of course, Mary and Joseph also couldn't let go of a bunch of old friends in the apartment.
