Synopsis of The Departure
The 42-year-old abbot of Daizen Temple, Ichito Nemoto, is different from the monks in people’s mind-set. He is also a passionate punk youth. His work now focuses on a unique approach to helping people seeking suicide find meaning in life. Over the past ten years, Neto has successfully enabled hundreds of people to abandon suicide and return to life. However, he himself suffered another kind of suffering. His phone calls hardly stop for a moment. The temple where he works is constantly visited by visitors, and he maintains a high-intensity work schedule every day. Due to the confusion between work and his own life, he gradually developed problems with his body and family.
