Synopsis of Padman

The movie was once translated as "The Cushion Man" and was adapted from the real deeds of Indian grassroots entrepreneur Muruganantham. Due to the high tariffs on sanitary napkins, more than 80% of women in India were still unable to use sanitary products during their menstrual period in 2012. The protagonist Lakshmi (played by Akshay Kumar), who has a junior high school education, has to pay for his wife (Radika).
