Synopsis of Cuba and the Cameraman
It was shortlisted for the non-competition screening section of the 74th Venice Film Festival and has been nominated for the 2018 Oscar for Best Long Documentary. Two-time Oscar nominee and Emmy Award-winning director Jon Alpert has visited Cuba many times since 1972, documenting Fidel Castro's images for a long time. The film is a muckraking portrait of Cuba, tracing the past of Fidel Castro and three families affected by his policies.
