Synopsis of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

The series is a prequel to the 1982 film "The Dark Crystal" and consists of 10 episodes exploring the world of Thra. The movie mainly tells the story of the Daredevil Crystal that broke apart thousands of years ago, creating two races: the terrifying Skeksis, who use the remaining power of the Daredevil Crystal to maintain their lives; and a group of kind, gentle wizards called the Mystics. As the cruel Skeksis strive for immortality, Jen and Kira, the last two survivors of the Gelfling race, must embark on an adventure with the last remaining shards of the Crystal to repair it and avert the catastrophe that would destroy their world. The series will follow three young Gelflings who discover a terrible secret, inspiring an uprising against a brutal emperor.
