Synopsis of Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer

The film tells the story of the legendary ups and downs of the former New York Governor Spitzer's political career. It details the whole story of the Spitzer incident, from his overwhelming election as New York State Attorney General to cracking down on the illegal activities of large Wall Street companies and participating in the campaign. The dramatic process was that Spitzer was dubbed the "Sheriff of Wall Street" and became a celebrity in politics due to his investigation of the prostitution ring. Then the "prostitution scandal" broke out and Spitzer was given a deadline of 48 hours to resign. Through a large number of exclusive interviews with Spitzer's friends, acquaintances and even his opponents, this film explores the subtle relationship and interaction between pride, sex and power throughout American society. Director Alex Gibney is a famous American documentary director who previously won the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2008 for his film "Taxi to the Dark." Other masterpieces include "The Smart Guy in the House" and so on.
