Synopsis of Election

Jim McCallister (Matthew Broderick) is a teacher at Carver High School. He is rigorous and lively in teaching, easy-going and friendly. He has won the title of outstanding teacher three times and is loved by the majority of students. In the class he teaches, there is a girl named Tracy Flick (Reese Witherspoon). Tracy is arrogant and confident, strives to make progress, and actively participates in club activities inside and outside school. She ran for student union president with confidence and met few opponents. For some reason, Jim was dissatisfied with Tracy's actions, so he also got involved in the fierce election battle at Carver High School... The film won the 1999 Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Comedy Performance (Lisa Beach); the 2000 Florida Film Critics Association Award for Best Screenplay; and the 2000 Independent Spirit Award for Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Screenplay. Grand prize.
