Synopsis of Gangster's Dream of Peace

Gandhi craze is sweeping across India, and one of the reasons can be said to be thanks to this film. This film tells the story of a gangster named Munna who, in order to pursue a female radio DJ, falsely claimed that he was a university professor and did not hesitate to make up stories about Gandhi's life in order to participate in a radio quiz competition. As he was sleeping day and night, Gandhi's ghost appeared before his eyes and taught him how to deal with adversity in life through non-violent means. In this movie about a gangster chasing a girl, Mahatma Gandhi's role is played almost from beginning to end, and Gandhi's philosophy and spirit are also implemented throughout the film. One week after the film opened in the capital New Delhi, the city government used the film to promote Gandhi's pursuit of truth and non-violent struggle and announced that the film would be exempt from entertainment tax. Similarly, the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh praised the film for its educational value and positive message, and gave the film tax-free status.
