Synopsis of Carol

In the United States in the 1950s, a young woman named Teres (Rooney Mara) worked as a shop assistant in a New York department store, but she longed for a photographer's job. One day, Carol (played by Cate Blanchett), a beautiful and elegant blond lady, came to a department store to buy Christmas gifts, and she fell in love with Therese at first sight. After the two met, Therese learned that Carol had a daughter and was divorcing her husband Haji (Kyle Chandler). Through correspondence, dates, and road trips, Teres and Carol discovered that each other was their true love. However, this was not allowed in society at the time. Therese’s boyfriend thought she was just temporarily confused, and Carol’s husband hired a private investigator to investigate and collect evidence, hoping that she would lose nothing in the divorce proceedings. The moment to test the two women has finally arrived: under social pressure, can they stick to their hearts and carry their relationship to the end regardless of the cost?
