Synopsis of Last and First Men

The documentary "Lastand First Men" directed by the late famous film composer John Johnson and narrated by Tilda Swinton has been shortlisted for the special screening section of this year's #BerlinFilmFest#. The film focuses on the "Spomeniks", the huge buildings left over from Yugoslavia during the Tito period, which embodies the unique and complex aesthetic and cultural connotations. Johnson went to the local area with photographer Sturla Brandt Grøvlen and took black and white pictures to show the appearance of the building at dawn or dusk, with the sky as the background.
