The Stendhal Syndrome La Sindrome di Stendhal

Synopsis of The Stendhal Syndrome

In 1817, the great French writer Stendhal came to Italy and spent all his time in Florence immersed in the masterpieces of the Renaissance. One day, he went to the Holy Cross Church to visit the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli. As soon as he walked out of the church door, he suddenly felt that his mind was confused, his heart was trembling violently, and he felt like he was about to fall down with every step he took. Doctors diagnosed that this was due to excessive psychological excitement caused by frequent appreciation of art treasures. This rare disease caused by a strong sense of beauty has since been called "Stendhal Syndrome." To this day, doctors in Florence still encounter patients with "Stendhal Syndrome" from time to time, and severe cases may even require hospitalization for several days. Most of them are tourists who love art and are highly appreciative. They are ambitious and want to scan the art treasures of this Renaissance central city in a few days. However, they are overwhelmed by the visual impact that comes one after another. But Italians are 100% immune to "Stendhal Syndrome". For them, the glory of the Renaissance is as omnipresent as the air. From childhood to old age, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo have been flowing in their lives. The atmosphere of the genius era of Chilo and Raphael The female police officer in the movie is the same as Stendhal back then...
