Synopsis of Water for Elephants

The story begins with an old man in his 90s reminiscing about his life during the Great Depression. 23-year-old Jacobi (played by Robert Pattinson) was forced to drop out of a prestigious school because his parents died and he was unable to pay his tuition. By chance, he took on the job of doing chores and taking care of animals in a second-rate circus. The magic weapon of the circus is an elephant named Rosie, which is a very spiritual animal. It's a pity that the cruel circus director August (Christoph Waltz) never knows how to care for animals. On the contrary, his wife Malena (played by Reese Witherspoon) loves the circus animals full of maternal love. Therefore, Jacobi gradually fell in love with the beautiful woman in the days to come. They were discovered by August when they decided to elope, but it was Rosie's amazing move that fulfilled their love. Rosie's behavior also became a secret that Jacob kept for seventy years.
